Emily is a real La Mariée bride — and her story is one we love to tell. She married her husband, Taylor, on May 6, 2023, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, and we are so happy she found her way to us.
Read on to hear about Emily and Taylor, what she loved most about wedding planning, and the advice she’d pass on to future brides.

How did you and Taylor meet?
“We met while in school at OSU and were in the same friend group. We started dating three years after college when we reconnected at an OSU football game in the fall of 2018.”
What was your favorite part of the wedding planning process?
“I’m not just saying this, but truly one of my favorite memories was finding my dress at La Mariée. I had been looking for several months and hadn’t seen anything close to what I wanted. The feeling of trying on my dress and knowing immediately it was ‘the one’ is a memory I will treasure forever.”
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
“So hard to choose just one! Marrying my husband and our first look exceeded every expectation — but something that also stands out is the time I had with my bridesmaids before the ceremony. We were surprisingly ahead of schedule and had a full hour to just relax and have fun together with nothing on the agenda. It was so special.”

What was your experience like shopping at La Mariée?
“I had been looking for a dress for several months before stumbling into La Mariée for their sample sale the day after Thanksgiving. I’ve heard sample sales can be chaotic, but this was the complete opposite. After trying on nearly every sample and not finding the right one, Elizabeth mentioned a non-sample dress she thought might be exactly what I was looking for — and she was right. It was perfect. And she got it to me in time for my wedding. Best day ever.”
What advice would you give to future brides?
“Don’t take things too seriously. It’s easy to get caught up in every little detail, but in the end they don’t really matter. Your guests are going to have fun no matter what — so don’t sweat the small stuff. Hire vendors you trust and let them do their thing. Most of all, enjoy it. The day goes by unbelievably fast.”
