As expert bridal stylists at La Mariée Boutique, we know how important it is for brides-to-be to have a clear timeline when it comes to bridal shopping. Here's a suggested timeline to help make the process of finding the perfect wedding dress a little less stressful:
12 Months Before the Wedding:
Start researching bridal boutiques and designers in your area. Check out their websites and social media for inspiration and to see what styles they offer.
Make appointments with the boutiques to try on dresses. Keep in mind that some of the more popular boutiques may have a waiting list.
9 to 12 Months Before the Wedding:
Start trying on dresses at your dream boutique (that is La Mariée Boutique, in case you were wondering 😉). This is the fun part! Your bridal stylist will guide you through the process and help you try on a range of styles and silhouettes to help you find your dream wedding dress.
Once you find the dress you love, it is time to say yes to the dress and order your perfect wedding dress! Keep in mind that some designer dresses may take up to 6 to 8 months to arrive.
6 to 7 Months Before the Wedding:
Book your little white dress appointment to shop for all your upcoming bridal events! Our little white dresses range from $250 to $800.
Start thinking about accessories like veils, headpieces, and jewelry. Consider the style of your dress when choosing accessories.
4 to 5 Months Before the Wedding:
Book your accessories appointment to shop for your veil & bridal accessories like jewelry, headpieces, gloves & shoes!
This is the ideal time to purchase your accessories. Many bridal accessories are made to order so this gives enough time to have everything arrive in time for your wedding.
2 to 3 Months Before the Wedding:
Once your gown arrives, we will contact you to schedule your first fitting! This will give you enough time to make necessary alterations. Remember to bring your wedding shoes and undergarments to the appointment.
Schedule a final fitting to make sure everything is perfect.
1 to 2 Weeks Before the Wedding:
Complete your final fitting and make sure everything is perfect!
We recommend having your dress steamed or pressed (if needed) so you just have to remove soft wrinkles with a travel steamer the day of your wedding.
