What Jewelry Will Look Best With My Gown?

The best jewelry starts with your neckline. A few guidelines we use in the fitting room:

  • Strapless and sweetheart necklines leave space for a statement. A delicate necklace or bold earrings both work beautifully.
  • High necks and illusion necklines already frame the face. Skip the necklace and let earrings do the talking.
  • V-necks and plunging necklines pair well with a fine pendant or a longer drop earring that echoes the line of the gown.
  • Heavily beaded or embellished gowns usually shine brightest with simpler pieces, so the dress stays the focus.
  • Minimal, clean gowns are the perfect backdrop for a statement earring or headpiece.

The easiest way to decide is to try it on together. We carry earrings, necklaces, bracelets, headpieces, and hair accessories, along with scarves, boleros, shawls, and shoes. Your stylist can pull pieces while you are still in your gown, so you can see the full look before your wedding day instead of guessing.

A bolero or shawl is also worth considering for cooler evenings, church ceremonies, or a little extra coverage without changing your gown.

Can I Try On That Party Dress?

Absolutely. Your wedding is more than one day of events, and many brides want to feel bridal at every one of them. We carry little white dresses from Jenny Yoo and Heirloom Bridal Co., perfect for:

  • Your bridal shower or bachelorette
  • The rehearsal dinner
  • A reception change after the first dance
  • Your send-off or a courthouse ceremony

If you spot one while you are in for a fitting or appointment, just ask your stylist. Trying on your second look alongside your gown makes it easy to pair them so the whole weekend feels cohesive.

I Am Traveling Abroad. Is This Too Much to Travel With?

We hear this often from our destination and out-of-town brides, and the answer is no. Your gown can travel with you safely. You just need a plan, and we will give you one.

Before you leave, we provide full instructions for traveling with your gown. There are two common ways to fly with it:

  • In its garment bag. Many airlines will let you ask a flight attendant to hang your gown in the closet at the front of the plane when space allows. It is always worth asking politely as you board.
  • In a carry-on bag. For gowns that can be folded, we will talk you through exactly how to pack it so it arrives with as few creases as possible.

Whichever you choose, never check your gown with your luggage. Keep it with you from door to door.

Steaming When You Arrive

Even a carefully packed gown will need a little refresh after a flight or long drive. We send every bride home with full steaming instructions, so you, your bridal party, or your planner know exactly how to release wrinkles without damaging delicate fabric, lace, or beading. If your venue or hotel offers steaming, you will know what to ask for and what to avoid.

After the Wedding

Your gown has one more trip to make: home. We also offer post-wedding cleaning and preservation options, so the gown you traveled with can be cared for properly once the celebration is over.
