Meet Our Bridal Ambassador, Alexandra!

We are so excited to introduce you to our new Bridal Ambassador, Alexandra Sweeney!

Alexandra said yes to her dress and became a La Mariée bride in January 2023. From her very first appointment, she had such amazing, infectious energy. She continued to support La Mariée long after her appointment, referring everyone she could to come shop with us. She shared about her experience at La Mariée on social media multiple times and even helped us out with a bridal event! Her support has meant so much to us, that we reached out to her to see if she would be interested in becoming a bridal ambassador for us. She said yes! Again!

Now what is a bridal ambassador? Well, Alexandra is going to be helping us with our social media by sharing her experience as a real La Mariée bride! Showing the behind the scenes, showcasing La Mariée dresses and, of course, sharing what it is really like being a 2023 bride.

We sat down with Alexandra and asked her a few questions to get to know her, her bridal experience so far and what she is most excited about. Read through her interview below and make sure you are following us and Alexandra on Instagram and TikTok to stay up to date with all things bridal and wedding dresses!

Tell us about your proposal story! How did Caleb propose?

December 11th 2022. Caleb had planned a dinner with his parents weeks before since they were leaving town the next day for about a week! I met my dad for lunch like I do every Sunday. We had lunch and then watched White Christmas! Then I went home and began getting ready for dinner with Caleb and his parents. It was a super early dinner which kind of threw me off. We were suppose to meet them at 4 so I had about an hour and a half to get ready. Of course, this day of all days I was hating every outfit and my hair was not cooperating hahaha. I had this strange gut feeling that today could be the day but also wondered if he planned this dinner with his parents to throw me off. He picked me up and we went downtown to In the Raw Vu. We sat down at a table facing a Christmas tree with the beautiful skyline of downtown Tulsa behind it! His parents asked me to take a photo of them & then Caleb said "let's get one too!" I kind of looked at him like umm I don't want my hair doesnt look great lol. But as we stood their taking a photo I then saw my best friend Kenzie, three of my close friends/roommates from college, my mom, my dad!! And his family as well! His roommate who is a videographer also walked in recording everything, Kenzie is a photographer and was snapping photos when I finally realized what was happening. I turned to Caleb and he was down on one knee with the ring box. He looked at me with tears and could barely even say the words "will you marry me?"  I was gushing with so many emotions and obviously said YES! It was so special and he had planned a surprise engagement party with our friends back at his parents house afterwards. My friend Kenzie and Malea had ready for me a white dress, pearl heels, makeup etc to get changed so that afterwards we could go back downtown to take photos. It was raining so Caleb suggested we take photos inside the beautiful Mayo Hotel! It was such a perfect day. It all felt like a dream even when I woke up the next morning to check my nightstand for the ring to make sure it really happened!

When are you getting married and where?

We are getting married October 20th, 2023 at The Mayo Hotel!! Such a full circle moment from the proposal!

What has been your favorite part of the wedding planning process? Least favorite?

When I said Yes to the dress. I chose to go by myself to that appointment, I knew I couldn't make the choice unless I was alone with my thoughts. It was such a sweet personal moment I got to have with myself. My least favorite has honestly been the registry (haha), there are so many different options for just one thing! It makes it so difficult to decide.

What was your dress shopping experience like?

It definitely was a little stressful just because of the pressure to find "the one." But it was a dream turned reality, getting to try on so many beautiful gowns. I chose one beautiful dress but the rest of the day was questioning my decision. La Mariée was so helpful and let me come back less than 24 hours later to do a re-try on of a few dresses and that’s when I finally found it. I didn't get the emotions when I tried on the dress, it was when I had my dress on with the veil that I knew it was "the one."

What made you decide to say yes to the dress at La Mariée?

So. Many. Things! The overall experience at my first appointment pretty much sealed the deal. It's a beautiful space to step into, we were greeted like we were the most important people they had walk in. I loved that we had the whole space to ourselves and the yummiest peach bellinis! My first appointment was with Liz and she was just was excited as I was! Immediately I felt so comfortable with her, she listened to what my vision was and knocked it out of the park. She pulled all these stunning gowns and I truly felt beautiful in every single one! I don't know how she does it but she just has a perfect eye for the dresses. It was such an amazing experience. I did my due diligence and I went to three other bridal stores but I knew I was going to end up back at La Mariée, which I did! Both Heidi and Liz were at my last two appointments until I chose the dress and they were just amazing with the whole process!

How would you describe your bridal style?

Timeless Romantic Bride

What are you most looking forward to at the moment?

Marrying the man better than my dreams. And also getting to wear my dress!!!
